ANALYTICAL TOOLS IN RASA SHASTRA: A REVIEW OF TRADITIONAL AND MODERN APPROACHES

Rasa Shastra, a specialized branch of Ayurveda, emphasizes the use of metals, minerals, and herbo-mineral preparations for therapeutic purposes. Classical texts describe various empirical methods to ensure the quality, safety, and efficacy of formulations, while modern analytical techniques provide reproducible and scientific validation. This review explores both traditional and modern analytical approaches in Rasa Shastra, offering a comprehensive overview of their applications, limitations, and complementarity. By examining case studies such as Swarna Bhasma, Abhraka Bhasma, Rasasindura, and Gandhaka Rasayana, the article underscores the importance of integrating traditional wisdom with modern science to establish global credibility. Challenges in standardization, safety validation, and regulatory acceptance are also discussed, along with future directions in advancing Rasa Shastra research.
