Abstract
Emotional Intelligence (EI) has emerged as a crucial factor influencing workplace behavior, leadership, and employee commitment. This study examines the relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Organizational Commitment among public and private sector employees in India. Using a comparative framework, data were collected from 150 respondents (75 from public sector organizations and 75 from private companies). Statistical tools such as correlation analysis, t-tests, and regression were applied to evaluate the impact of EI dimensions on organizational commitment. The findings indicate a significant positive correlation between Emotional Intelligence and Organizational Commitment in both sectors, with private sector employees displaying slightly higher EI scores. However, public sector employees exhibited stronger affective commitment. The study concludes that Emotional Intelligence plays a decisive role in shaping commitment, with implications for HR development, leadership training, and employee retention strategies.
