Abstract
This study examined the influence of caring school leadership on teacher resilience and job satisfaction among public secondary and integrated schoolteachers in Maragusan District, Division of Davao de Oro, Philippines. Using a quantitative descriptive correlational research design, data was collected from 181 teachers drawn from a population of 332 through stratified random sampling across ten public secondary and integrated schools. Adapted and validated survey questionnaires were utilized to measure caring school leadership, teacher resilience, and teacher job satisfaction. Results revealed that teachers perceived a high level of caring school leadership, while teacher resilience and job satisfaction were likewise rated high. Results further showed a significant positive relationship between caring school leadership and teacher resilience as well as between caring school leadership and teacher job satisfaction. Among the dimensions of caring school leadership, management care demonstrated the strongest association with teacher resilience, whereas organizational care exhibited the strongest association with teacher job satisfaction. These results suggest that school leaders who provide psychological support, foster collaboration and trust, and implement supportive management practices contribute significantly to strengthening teachers’ resilience and enhancing their satisfaction in the profession. The study underscores the importance of caring leadership in promoting teacher well-being, professional commitment, and long-term effectiveness in the educational system.
