Abstract
This study examined the influence of financial well-being on job satisfaction and work performance among public school teachers in Maragusan East District, Division of Davao de Oro, Philippines. Using a quantitative descriptive-correlational research design, data were collected from 121 public school teachers through universal sampling. A validated researcher-made questionnaire was utilized to measure financial well-being in terms of income adequacy, savings, debt management, financial management, and financial stability. Job satisfaction was assessed in terms of morale, motivation, and professional fulfillment, while work performance was measured based on IPCRF dimensions of quality, efficiency, and timeliness. Results revealed that teachers exhibited a moderate level of financial well-being, while job satisfaction and work performance were both rated very high. Findings further showed significant positive relationships between financial well-being and job satisfaction, as well as between financial well-being and work performance. Among the dimensions of financial well-being, savings and financial stability significantly predicted job satisfaction, whereas debt management demonstrated the strongest influence on work performance. These findings suggest that teachers with better financial security and effective financial management tend to experience higher job satisfaction and improved work performance. The study highlights the importance of financial wellness programs, savings promotion, and debt management interventions in strengthening teachers’ financial capability, professional satisfaction, and overall effectiveness in the educational system.
