Abstract
The Farmer Portal: A Direct Farmer-to-Consumer E-Commerce Platform The Farmer Portal is an innovative digital marketplace designed to bridge the gap between farmers and consumers by eliminating intermediaries in the agricultural supply chain. This platform addresses critical challenges faced by farmers, including low profit margins due to middlemen exploitation, and provides consumers with access to fresh, high-quality produce at competitive prices. By facilitating direct transactions, the portal ensures transparency, fair pricing, and traceability of agricultural products. Built using modern web technologies, the platform features a user-friendly interface developed with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the frontend, while Node.js and Express.js power the backend for seamless functionality. MongoDB serves as the database to manage user data, product listings, and transaction records efficiently. Key features include product search and filtering, secure payment gateways, order tracking, and personalized dashboards for both farmers and consumers. The Farmer Portal not only enhances economic benefits for farmers by increasing their profit margins but also promotes sustainable agricultural practices by reducing the carbon footprint associated with long supply chains. Future enhancements include mobile application development, AI driven recommendations, and blockchain integration for enhanced transparency. This project demonstrates the potential of technology to revolutionize traditional agricultural markets, fostering a more equitable and sustainable ecosystem for all stakeholders.
