Abstract
Palliative care is an interdisciplinary approach to providing comprehensive and compassionate care for patients with life-limiting illnesses. It focuses on managing symptoms, providing emotional and spiritual support, and improving the patient's quality of life, regardless of their disease prognosis. This research paper aims to explore the history, philosophy, and principles of palliative care, as well as the various components of a palliative care plan, including pain management, symptom relief, and psychological support. Additionally, the paper will discuss the challenges associated with providing palliative care, including ethical considerations, cultural and social factors, and healthcare system constraints. By understanding the benefits and challenges of palliative care, healthcare professionals can provide more effective and compassionate care for patients and their families facing life-limiting illnesses.
