Abstract
The study addresses the persistent challenges in teaching Newton's Laws of Motion to Grade 8 learners, specifically the least learned competencies identified by the DepEd Agusan del Sur Division. The research developed and implemented the Newton's Motion Quest Adventures Kit, an interactive instructional tool, to enhance students’ conceptual understanding of these laws. Using a quasi-experimental design, the study involved pretest and posttest assessments with 42 Grade 8 students from Lucena National High School. Results revealed significant improvement in students' conceptual understanding, with mean scores increasing from 8.83 in the pretest to 19.55 in the posttest. The statistical analysis showed a t-value of 18.98 and a p-value of .000, confirming a substantial impact of the instructional kit. Qualitative data from focus group discussions and reflection worksheets highlighted students’ positive perceptions of the kit’s hands-on and engaging activities, which facilitated better comprehension and real-world application of Newtonian principles. The study concludes that the Newton's Motion Adventures Kit effectively addresses learning gaps in Newton's Laws, fostering deeper understanding and retention. It recommends broader integration of interactive tools in science education to support diverse learner needs and improve outcomes in challenging topics.
