Abstract
The field of meteorological variables shows a significant variation from 3 days before cyclogenesis. The study of the evolution of these meteorological variables shows that 11 parameters are in linear correlation with the cyclogenesis in the South-West Indian Ocean basin. The normed principal component analysis shows that a structure of the field of these parameters where the first and second eigenvalues are simultaneously greater than 1, can be a precursor sign of cyclogenesis. When this phenomenon occurs for maximum wind on 200 hPa and maximum specific humidity on 700 hPa levels, it is followed by cyclone at 100% of cases within 15 days at the latest.
