Abstract
In this review paper, the concept and properties of fractal antenna have been studied along with the different geometries available for its design. The recent advancements in the field of wireless communications, satellite communication, defence and the rising significance of several wireless and digital applications has resulted in surge in the demand of compact, multiband, low profile and versatile antennas in both commercial and military applications. Fractal antenna meets these requirements, and offers several advantages over other antennas. This paper presents a detailed review of five major fractal geometries including their construction methodology, electromagnetic behavior, and application areas.
