Abstract
This study examined the relationship between student attitude and academic outcomes in Science among multi-grade learners of San Nicolas Elementary School, Bislig City Division, during the school year 2024–2025. Specifically, the study assessed learners’ attitudes in terms of science enjoyment, science confidence, and importance of science, and determined their academic outcomes in Science. The research utilized a quantitative descriptive-correlational design involving 18 multi-grade learners composed of Grade III and Grade IV pupils. Data were gathered through an adapted questionnaire based on the study of Huang et al. (2019), while learners’ academic outcomes were obtained from their Science grades. Statistical tools such as weighted mean, frequency distribution, mean, and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient (Pearson r) were employed in analyzing the data. The study was anchored on the Theory of Planned Behavior by Ajzen (1991) and the Constructivist Learning Theory by Piaget (1972), emphasizing the role of learners’ attitudes and experiences in shaping academic performance. Findings of the study are expected to provide valuable insights for the Department of Education, school administrators, science teachers, parents, and future researchers in developing strategies and interventions that foster positive attitudes toward Science and improve learners’ academic outcomes.
