Abstract
Virtual interviews have become a standard method for modern recruitment, offering convenience and efficiency for both candidates and employers. However, they also introduce a range of opportunities for dishonest practices such as off-screen assistance, impersonation, tab-switching, unauthorized background support, and intentionally manipulated behavior. Traditional video-conferencing platforms lack built-in mechanisms to analyze candidate conduct or detect suspicious activities in real time, which makes it challenging for recruiters to ensure fairness, authenticity, and transparency throughout the hiring process.
SecuHire directly addresses this problem by providing a browser-based, AI-powered monitoring system capable of capturing, interpreting, and analyzing multiple behavioral cues during an online interview. The platform integrates four intelligent analysis modules: head-movement monitoring, facial-behavior assessment, tab-switch and screen-activity detection, and voice-clarity evaluation. Together, these modules examine a candidate’s posture, focus, engagement level, facial reactions, browsing patterns, and audio consistency. Each module generates structured logs and event summaries that contribute to an overall integrity assessment score, allowing recruiters to identify unusual, distracting, or potentially dishonest behaviors more accurately and efficiently.
SecuHire is implemented using React.js for an intuitive and responsive front-end interface, while Node.js and Express.js handle backend services and data routing. TensorFlow.js and face-api.js enable lightweight, on-browser machine-learning analysis without requiring specialized hardware. MongoDB is used to store structured behavioral data and system logs. The entire process runs in real time within the browser and requires no additional software installation, making the solution accessible across devices and operating systems. Experimental evaluations show improved interview transparency, stronger fraud detection, and reduced recruiter workload. SecuHire ultimately offers a scalable, practical, and trustworthy solution for organizations seeking greater reliability and fairness in digital hiring environments.
