Abstract
This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the business environment of two major UK-based multinational organizations: Marks & Spencer (M&S) and Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG). It examines their organizational purposes, stakeholder relationships, responsibilities, and strategies in response to dynamic economic, political, and cultural environments. The study further explores the impact of fiscal and monetary policies, competition regulations, and market forces on their operations. In addition, it evaluates the significance of international trade and globalization, especially within the context of the European Union, in shaping their business strategies and long-term sustainability. Drawing from detailed case examples, such as M&S’s legal structure evolution and IHG’s global expansion strategy, the paper highlights the importance of adaptability and innovation. Insights into consumer feedback, shareholder concerns, and employee relations provide practical evidence of stakeholder influence on company strategies. Overall, the research provides a nuanced understanding of how multinational corporations adapt their strategies to balance profitability, responsibility, compliance, and innovation in an interconnected global economy.
