Abstract
The rapid growth of e-commerce and logistics industries with the increasing demand for organic produce and the growth of smart urban infrastructure, there is a need for a technology-driven solution to ensure the efficient transportation of organic crop goods from rural farms to urban consumers. This project proposes a web-based Transportation Management System (TMS) specifically designed for the smart city ecosystem, utilizing the MERN stack — MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.
The proposed TMS enables logistics companies and transport managers to efficiently plan, track, and manage the movement of goods across various locations. Key functionalities include user authentication, vehicle and driver management, goods tracking, shipment scheduling, route optimization, and real-time status updates. The backend, powered by Node.js and Express, ensures robust APIs and secure data handling, while the frontend, developed using React.js, offers an intuitive and responsive user interface. MongoDB is used for scalable and flexible data storage, allowing seamless integration of multiple modules.
