Abstract
As space missions become longer and more advanced, astronauts must have easy and reliable ways to interact and control the systems around them, because even simple tasks like pressing a button or touching a screen can become challenging to perform in space. This is because astronauts work in zero gravity and must wear thick gloves. The tools and controls that work well on Earth might not work the same way when astronauts are in space. This causes stress, which is why astronauts need a more flexible and natural way to interact with systems or machines during their time spent in space. This paper introduces a new human-computer interaction system designed especially for space environments. It incorporates gesture control and voice commands; by doing so, astronauts can now operate the systems around them without the need to physically touch anything. This system is designed to identify glove-friendly gestures and simple voice instructions. It also learns each astronaut's unique patterns over time, in order to make the system provide more accurate results using artificial intelligence. This approach mainly focuses on reducing errors and improving the astronauts' performance, and helps them provide a more comfortable way to work in space. In the future, this idea could play a big role in space machines or for anyone working in situations where they can’t use their hands easily and need smart systems that can adapt to them.
