Abstract
Stuttering is a disorder that often involves repetition of words or phrases, delays, and blocking of sounds. This research aims to describe the types and speech of people who stutter, the factors that cause stuttering, and to examine the psychology of the mental state of people who stutter. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, collecting interview data from individuals who stutter. The subject of this study is a 33-year-old male adult with a stuttering language disorder. The results of this research include language disorders, specifically stuttering, characterized by the repetition of letters, syllables, and single words, as well as voice extension. Stuttering in this study was due to internal factors that occurred due to brain damage experienced by stuttering people since the age of 15, due to consuming illegal drugs too often, and there were also external factors. In this study, people who stutter will still appear confident if there is encouragement from those closest to them who can look after and accept the sufferer, so that their mental health remains well-maintained. In this way, wherever and whenever, people who stutter will remain confident in their daily activities.
