Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the landscape of healthcare and medicine by enhancing clinical diagnostics, personalizing treatment plans, accelerating drug discovery, and improving administrative efficiency. This literature review explores the diverse applications of AI across key domains such as medical imaging, predictive modeling, robotic-assisted surgery, and personalized medicine. AI-driven technologies like Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have shown remarkable success in analyzing diagnostic images, while machine learning models applied to Electronic Health Records (EHRs) enable early detection of critical illnesses and support clinical decision-making. In drug development, AI significantly reduces resource demands by predicting compound efficacy and optimizing clinical trials. Administrative tasks have also benefited from automation via Natural Language Processing (NLP), streamlining workflows and improving documentation. Moreover, the integration of Explainable AI (XAI) is gaining traction to address ethical concerns related to algorithmic bias, transparency, and data privacy. Novel use cases, including AI-powered mobile applications for biomechanics and historical medical text analysis using GPT, further demonstrate AI’s versatility. Collectively, these advancements underline AI’s potential to enhance healthcare delivery, support human decision-making, and contribute to a more efficient, personalized, and equitable medical system.
