Abstract
Cloud computing has received fantastic attention amongst researchers from both academia and industry; it has emerged as one of the promising technologies that is transferring the computing paradigm from conventional computing into the brand-new era of cloud computing. Cloud computing has also been introduced to offer health care services along with information sharing, having access to numerous health care services, utilizing resources throughout the board and improving average information and communication framework among its essential stakeholders, together with patients, medical doctors, and pharmacists. The Traditional access control such as the Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) model was formally used by organizations to assign users to defined role(s), where user can obtain all permissions of the particular role they belong. RBAC suffers some major challenges, especially in healthcare system. One of the major weaknesses of RBAC is role explosion. In this thesis we present the encryption/decryption prototype system to protect the captured vital signs and personal information of patients. This enables patients’ medical data to be remotely monitored from the hospital in secured manner by using Key-Policy Attribute Based Encryption (KP-ABE), patients’ medical information can be protected and be shared among different medical operators.
