ADVANCING SUSTAINABILITY: THE ROLE OF GREEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP ON MICRO, SMALL, AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES

This study explored the state of green entrepreneurship among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Socorro, centered on awareness, implementation, impact, and opportunities for sustainable business practices. Utilizing a descriptive-correlational research design, data were taken from micro, small and medium enterprises in the municipality of Socorro through simple random technique. Findings unveiled those respondents were moderately aware of green entrepreneurship, with the highest awareness related to environmental issues. However, awareness of sustainable business practices was found to be the lowest. The implementation of green practices was only slightly implemented, with waste management emerging as the most applied initiative. Statistical analysis showed significant correlations between the implementation of green practices and business performance, particularly in the areas of energy efficiency and sustainable sourcing. The study recommends a localized green entrepreneurship framework to build up awareness, increase implementation, and improve policy and market support among MSMEs in Socorro.
