Abstract
The analysis of fusion energy reactions occurring at energies adjacent to the Coulomb barrier has become a considerable subject of interest, especially for the knowledge it imparts regarding nuclear structure effects. Additionally, this research is crucial for the synthesis of super heavy elements (SHE). Different classical microscopic and macroscopic approaches have been applied to examine heavy-ion reactions, as classical approximations continue to hold true owing to the relatively small de Broglie wavelength of heavy ions, even at lower energy levels. In the context of classical approximation, the 3S-CMD model has been established. This model considers both the long-range reorientation effect of the deformed collision partner at significant distances and the internal vibrational excitations of one or both nuclei when they get close to the barrier. Fusion cross-sections for 16O+120Sn system have been calculated using 3S-CMD model. Using these fusion cross-sections, we find barrier distribution for spherical + deformed system in 3S-CMD model. The fusion cross-sections and barrier distribution calculated for this reaction are compared with the outcomes of a static-barrier-penetration model (SBPM) calculation to investigate the effects of reorientation.
