Abstract
This study investigated the potential of handwriting analysis as a forensic tool for estimating age, literacy level, and gender. The research aims to identify distinctive handwriting characteristics associated with these demographic factors. Handwriting samples were systematically collected from individuals aged 13 and above, encompassing various educational backgrounds from primary to doctoral levels. To ensure mature writing, gender-based analysis included only individuals aged 18 and above. Factors such as health conditions, hand injuries, and mental well-being were considered for their potential impact on handwriting. A standardized writing template was employed to maintain uniformity and eliminate external influences. Key handwriting features, including line quality, letter size, spacing, pen pressure, and embellishments, were analyzed. The findings indicate that handwriting evolves with age, becoming more consistent in middle-aged individuals and showing signs of decline in older adults. Gender differences are observed, with females exhibiting smoother and more controlled handwriting, while males tend to apply greater pen pressure with bolder strokes. Additionally, literacy level influences handwriting precision, with highly educated individuals demonstrating more structured and refined writing compared to those with lower education levels. These results establish a scientific basis for handwriting analysis in forensic investigations, providing a practical approach for profiling individuals. The study concludes that handwriting serves as a valuable indicator of age, gender, and education, with applications in forensic document examination, psychological assessments, and handwriting recognition systems.
