Challenges of Entrepreneurship Education and Curriculum towards Job creation among Students of Jigawa State Polytechnic Dutse

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between entrepreneurship education and job creation, innovation and job creation and influence of entrepreneurship curriculum on job creation in a polytechnic setting in Nigeria. Design/methodology: Data was collected from 365 graduated student, lecturers and management staff of Jigawa Sate Polytechnic using a stratified random sampling technique. Structural Equation Modelling (PLS) was used to assess the measurement, and structural measure to test the hypotheses. Findings: The result reveals that entrepreneurship education has a positive and significant influence on job creation, innovation reveals a positive and significant mediating effect on job creation however, entrepreneurship curriculum and job creation highlight insignificant relationship between the construct which may be attributed to environmental and policy influence. Research Implication: The results provide evidence-based strategies for curriculum development aimed at fostering effective entrepreneurship education for job creation. Originality/value: This study contributes to the existing literature on entrepreneurship education by highlighting the critical role of curriculum in shaping the mindset of graduated polytechnic students towards job creation.
