Abstract
Auditing has ancient roots and has evolved in line with economic developments. Internal auditing is an essential function for any bank, ensuring the integrity and compliance of information and serving as a crucial tool for effective risk management. This study aims to analyze the internal audit process in the Bank of Albania, focusing on the bank's organizational structure as well as international standards and manuals that form the foundation for this function.
By the end of the study, we expect to have a clear overview of auditing and its key aspects, including the phases it undergoes, the roles and responsibilities of core functions, the annual plan, and the organization, objectives, and goals of the Bank of Albania in this area.
