Abstract
Abstract: The construction of the Baglihar Dam, located on the Chenab River in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, India, has significant implications for the surrounding geography and ecosystem. This research paper examines the geographic disturbances resulting from the dam's construction, including alterations to land use, hydrology, sediment transport, and local biodiversity. Through an analysis of various data sources and case studies, we assess the impacts on the environment, socio-economic conditions, and community displacement. The findings indicate a complex interplay between development and ecological balance, necessitating integrated management strategies for sustainable development in the region.
