Abstract
The Internet of Things (IoT) comprises uniquely identified devices connected over the internet, enabling remote monitoring and control. This technology has revolutionized home automation, enhancing comfort and security. This paper outlines the concept of IoT-based sensing and monitoring systems for automated homes. The proposed prototype uses an ESP32 board, remotely controlled via Android/iOS smartphones. The ESP32 acts as a micro web server, interfacing with various hardware modules. The system allows switching functionalities for lights, fans, and other appliances connected to the microcontroller. As technology advances, homes are becoming smarter, moving from conventional switches to centralized control systems, including remote-controlled switches. The system uses a microcontroller board with a built-in Wi-Fi module at the receiver end and a web application on the smartphone to send commands, enabling remote operation of connected loads.
