Abstract
In this modern era the floating columns are using widely in construction field. The floating columns are constructed on the beam or slab, they don’t transfer the load to the foundation. They carry the gravity loads or vertical loads but not the lateral loads especially tectonic loads. The tectonic loads need the particular transfer path but the floating columns doesn’t ‘t have a specific transfer path. In this paper the main objective is that to analyze the seismic loads on the G+5 multi-storied building with floating columns with various loading conditions and also deals with the variations of base shear, displacement, bending moment, shear force and storey drift. the building external floating columns is analyzed with static and response spectrum analysis using Staad pro vi8 software. The floating column construction will create a more space for occupancy like parking space, function halls, banquet halls etc. In this paper we have analyzed by assuming three conditions of building with floating columns as well as removing internal columns. The analyzation is done in the earth quake zone 2
