Abstract
The concept of geopolitics is a combination of geography and politics. In compliance with Oxford, geopolitics is “politics, especially international relations, as influenced by geographical factors. Popular geopolitics is one of its various classifications. Popular geopolitics is basically the way in which people are associated with an dominating ideology through movies, songs, newspapers, books, literary works, cartoons, pictures and other similar mediums or the way in which the ideology propagated by these media is persuaded in the minds of people is known as popular geopolitics. The circulation of book of writing is limited to a certain class of people, whereas cinema can reach all classes of people in all societies. The tendency to use cinema as a medium to get people accustomed to influential ideologies observed all over the world. It has been seen in the earliest stages of the history of Hollywood cinema, even in the silence era. The number of such movies indicating protection of national interest has skyrocketed, especially since the infamous 9/11 attacks. In India too, since independence, there have been attempts to portray the country's contemporary situation through various movies. The number of such patriotic movies has increased rapidly in India since the shocking 26/11 attacks. Contributory role of government in making such films one after another cannot be denied. The impact of such films on the public has been widespread, even in the exercise of the right to vote people have been influenced by them. Ruling political parties are benefiting from these. The following article attempts to present this statement by analysing the various scenarios and dialogues of such a Bollywood cinema in a contemporary context.
