Abstract
Frequent patterns mining has attracted the attention of many researchers in the field of data mining. Several algorithms for finding frequent item sets have been developed. Even today the efficiency and scalability of these algorithms is a major issue. Association rule mining is one of the important techniques for discovering meaningful patterns from large collection of data. Mining frequent item sets plays an major role in association rule mining, sequence rules, web log mining and many other interesting patterns among complex data. In discovering association rules, the most time consuming operation is the computation of the frequency of the occurrences of interesting subset of items (called candidates) in the transaction database. Main aim of this review is developing an efficient algorithm for finding frequent closed patterns. Some existing algorithms for frequent closed item set mining are reviewed in this review paper and an overview of various research papers on frequent closed pattern mining algorithms is presented in this paper.
