Abstract
In this article Aluminum metal matrix composites reinforced with particles, have marked their importance in many engineering application because of low wear rate. Selection of material For brake pad is essential. In present work AA336 metal matrix composite material , reinforced with Tic , were prepared by stir casting procedure in the form of pin of different composition. The testing performed on pin-on-disc apparatus under dry sliding condition. With this type of test we can control wear by having control of the sliding speed , the material composite, the load applied and duration of time. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) used to find optimum wear under influence of TiC, sliding speed , material, load. In all this TiC reinforced hybrid composite exhibited lower wear loss as compared to the unreinforced alloy in order to suggest most suitable material for brake pad Application.
