Abstract
भारत एक कृषि प्रधान देश है, जहाँ अधिकांश कृषक लघु एवं सीमांत श्रेणी में आते हैं। इन किसानों की सामाजिक एवं पारिवारिक स्थिति ग्रामीण विकास, कृषि उत्पादकता तथा सामाजिक परिवर्तन को प्रभावित करती है। प्रस्तुत अध्ययन का उद्देश्य बिजनौर जनपद के लघु एवं सीमांत कृषकों की सामाजिक एवं पारिवारिक स्थिति का समाजशास्त्रीय विश्लेषण करना है। अध्ययन में 200 कृषकों का चयन सरल यादृच्छिक नमूनाकरण पद्धति द्वारा किया गया। प्राप्त आंकड़ों का विश्लेषण प्रतिशत, माध्य, मानक विचलन तथा t-परीक्षण द्वारा किया गया। अध्ययन में पाया गया कि अधिकांश लघु एवं सीमांत कृषक संयुक्त परिवारों में निवास करते हैं, उनकी शैक्षिक स्थिति मध्यम स्तर की है तथा आर्थिक संसाधनों की कमी के कारण सामाजिक गतिशीलता सीमित है।
