PROFESSIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMS AND DECISION-MAKING PROCESS: THEIR IMPACT ON TEACHERS' MORALE

Teacher morale is a critical factor in sustaining quality education, influencing motivation, retention, and overall school performance. This study examined the extent to which professional training programs and decision-making processes impact teachers’ morale, and whether these variables can serve as predictors of teachers’ psychological and professional well-being. A quantitative descriptive-correlational research design was employed to analyze the relationship between professional training programs, decision-making processes, and teachers’ morale among educators in the Nabunturan West District. Data were gathered from 109 teacher respondents through a survey questionnaire and analyzed using correlational and regression techniques to determine the predictive power of the variables. Findings revealed that teachers demonstrated a high level of participation and accessibility in professional training programs, as well as strong involvement in decision-making processes, particularly in school improvement planning and curriculum implementation. Teachers also exhibited a high level of morale overall. Both professional training programs and decision-making processes showed a positive relationship with teachers’ morale, with participation and accessibility emerging as significant predictors. However, the indicator of alignment within professional training programs did not show a significant relationship with morale. The study concludes that teachers’ morale is best enhanced when they are actively engaged in professional training and included in school governance. Accessibility and participation in training, along with involvement in planning and curriculum decisions, are critical to sustaining motivation and professional commitment. It is recommended that school leaders prioritize inclusive and participatory structures in both training and decision-making to foster a supportive environment that strengthens teacher morale and contributes to improved educational outcomes.
