Student Support Services, Students Outcomes, and School Performance: Their Correlation

This study determined the relationship between student support services and student outcomes among college students of Legacy College of Compostela, Inc. Specifically, the study examined the level of implementation of student support services in terms of academic support services, guidance and counseling services, financial support services, health and wellness services, and student development and engagement services. It also assessed student outcomes in terms of academic outcomes, personal and social development, career readiness, and academic performance. Furthermore, the study investigated the relationship between student support services and school performance in terms of retention rate and cohort survival rate. A correlational research design was employed using a structured questionnaire adapted from previous related studies. The respondents of the study were one hundred (100) college students from the BEED, BSED, BSBA, and BSCRIM programs selected through simple random sampling. Frequency count, percentage, weighted mean, and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient were utilized to analyze the gathered data. Findings revealed that student support services play a significant role in improving student outcomes and school performance. The study concluded that effective implementation of student support services contributes positively to students’ academic achievement, personal growth, career readiness, retention, and overall educational experience. The study recommends strengthening student support programs and services to further enhance student success and institutional effectiveness.
