Abstract
This study described the teachers' readiness, challenges, and support needs in the implementation of the Strengthened Senior High School Curriculum and the learners' academic performance in core subjects in Mangagoy National High School, Bislig City Division, during School Year 2026–2027. Employing a quantitative descriptive-survey research design, the study involved ten (10) Senior High School teacher-respondents and the academic performance records of eighty-two (82) Grade 11 learners. An adapted and contextualized teacher questionnaire using a four-point Likert scale was used for the teacher survey, while official grade records were used for document analysis of learner performance in the five core subjects: Effective Communication/Mabisang Komunikasyon, General Mathematics, General Science, Life and Career Skills, and Pag-aaral ng Kasaysayan at Lipunang Pilipino. Weighted mean, standard deviation, frequency, and percentage were the statistical tools used. Results revealed that teachers' overall readiness was Very High (M = 3.65), with curriculum understanding as the strongest area. Implementation challenges were generally Challenging (M = 2.74), with learning resources and technology constraints identified as the most difficult area. Support needs were Highly Needed overall (M = 3.30), with instructional materials and learning resources as the top priority. Learners' overall academic performance was Very Satisfactory (M = 87.22), with Effective Communication/Mabisang Komunikasyon obtaining the highest average and General Science the lowest. Based on the findings, an instructional support plan was proposed covering resource development, professional collaboration, assessment support, and subject-specific academic intervention.
