Abstract
The study assessed the influence of selected 40 Senior High School Career Change Teachers (SHS-CCTS) on the academic performance, class motivation, and satisfaction of 400 SHS students in Bunawan, Sta. Josefa, and Trento, Agusan del Sur, collectively known as the BuSTren District. The study employed a quantitative descriptive-correlational research design, in which both primary and secondary data were collected. Secondary data involved the Individual Performance Commitment and Review Form (IPCRF) ratings of the SHS-CCTs and the semestral grades of the students, while primary data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to the students and the instructional supervisors of the selected SHS-CCTs. The study aimed to determine the level of teaching performance of SHS–CCTs in terms of IPCRF ratings and classroom management practices, as well as the level of students’ academic performance, class motivation and satisfaction. It also examined the significant relationship between the teaching performance of SHS–CCTs and the identified student outcome variables. The study found that the SHS–CCTs demonstrated outstanding teaching performance and very high classroom management practices, while the students obtained very satisfactory academic performance together with high levels of class motivation and satisfaction. However, the findings further revealed that there was no significant relationship between the teaching performance of SHS–CCTs and the academic performance, class motivation and satisfaction of the students. Overall, the findings suggest that although CCTs are capable of effectively performing instructional responsibilities and maintaining positive classroom environments, student outcomes may still be influenced by broader learner-related, social, emotional, and environmental factors beyond teacher performance indicators alone. The study contributes to the growing body of educational research regarding Career Change Teachers and their role within the Senior High School educational setting.
