Abstract
The study measured the impact of the leadership practices of school administrators on the performance of selected Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Davao de Oro during school year 2024-2025. The varied cohort survival, graduation, retention, dropout and participation rates of the school performance are some of the difficulties that lead to this study to investigate how leadership practices influence educational results. The purpose of this study was to establish the relationship between the dimensions of transformational leadership; inspirational motivation, individualized consideration, idealized influence, intellectual stimulation and the indicators of school performance. The study adopted a quantitative ex post-facto research design. The study was conducted with 147 teachers from eight HEIs in the province. Data on leadership practices were collected through a modified questionnaire and data on cohort survival graduation retention dropout and participation rates were gathered from institutional records. The reliability was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha and the instrument was validated by specialists. We used mean, standard deviation and Spearman rank-order correlation to assess the association between the leadership dimensions and performance measures. The findings of the study revealed that the administrators performed high on all the components of the transformational leadership of the leadership practices, only intellectual stimulation was a significant predictor of the overall school success. Leadership practices were significantly connected with graduation rates but were not significantly or weakly associated with cohort survival, retention, dropout and participation rates. The results show that great leadership is positively related to school atmosphere and instructional quality. However, other variables like student support services and socio-economic situations also play major roles in shaping institutional success.
