Abstract
Instructional supervision is a key lever for strengthening teachers’ instructional practice and sustaining professional growth, particularly in Senior High School settings where subject specialization and performance standards demand targeted support. This study examined the extent of instructional supervision practices and the level of professional growth of Senior High School teachers at Bislig City National High School (BCNHS), Bislig City Division. A quantitative descriptive–correlational research design was used. Using total enumeration, twenty-two (22) Senior High School teachers (Grade 11 = 10; Grade 12 = 12) participated. Data were gathered through a structured survey questionnaire aligned with supervision domains (classroom observation and feedback, mentoring and coaching, professional learning communities, and standards-based evaluation using PPST/RPMS) and professional growth domains (pedagogical competence, engagement in professional development, reflective practice, and RPMS–PPST performance growth). Responses were rated on a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using mean and standard deviation; Pearson correlation was identified to test the relationship between supervision and professional growth at α = 0.05. Results indicated that instructional supervision practices were implemented to a very great extent overall (M = 4.77), with standards-based evaluation (M = 4.84) and classroom observation and feedback (M = 4.82) rated highest. Teachers reported a very high level of professional growth overall (M = 4.39), with pedagogical competence (M = 4.83) highest and engagement in professional development (M = 4.12) comparatively lower. Findings support sustaining formative supervision, strengthening mentoring and PLC structures, and expanding flexible, school-embedded professional development opportunities.
