Abstract
सामाजिक विज्ञान पाठ्यक्रम केवल ज्ञान देने का माध्यम नहीं है, बल्कि यह छात्रों में नैतिक, सामाजिक और नागरिक मूल्यों को विकसित करने का एक महत्वपूर्ण साधन भी है। इस अध्ययन का उद्देश्य उत्तर प्रदेश के लखनऊ, कानपुर, गोरखपुर और वाराणसी जिलों के माध्यमिक विद्यालयों में सामाजिक विज्ञान शिक्षण के माध्यम से मूल्यों के समावेश की प्रभावशीलता का मूल्यांकन करना है। 400 छात्रों और 40 शिक्षकों के नमूने पर आधारित यह अध्ययन सर्वेक्षण और साक्षात्कार पद्धति पर आधारित है। अध्ययन से पता चला कि अधिकांश शिक्षक और छात्र सामाजिक विज्ञान में मूल्यों के समावेश को महत्वपूर्ण मानते हैं, परन्तु व्यावहारिक चुनौती और पाठ्यक्रम सीमाओं के कारण इसकी प्रभावशीलता में अंतर पाया गया।
