Abstract
The rapid industrialization, population growth, and urban expansion of recent decades have led to a predicted rise in world energy demand. To address the intertwined crises of energy scarcity, environmental degradation, and climate change, a paradigm shift towards renewable energy sources is imperative. Solar energy, radiated from the sun, offers an abundant, clean, and renewable power source with the potential to revolutionize global electricity generation. As environmental concerns escalate regarding fossil fuel consumption, solar energy emerges as a critical element in transitioning to an eco-friendly and sustainable future. Despite substantial research and technological advancements, several gaps persist in the optimal utilization of solar energy This review paper examines the principles, technological advancements, environmental impacts, benefits, and challenges associated with harnessing solar power. The objective of the present review is to provide a comprehensive analysis of recent developments in harnessing solar energy, with a focus on solar air heaters, solar collectors, and energy storage systems.
