Abstract
This study explores the influence of peer interactions on the numeracy skills of elementary learners in Parasanon Integrated School, Maragusan West District, Maragusan Davao de Oro. Employing experimental approach, recognizing the importance of collaboration in enhancing learning outcomes, the research investigates whether structured peer interaction activities can significantly improve learners’ numeracy skills in basic mathematical operations, problem-solving, and logical reasoning. One group of learners was observed: one engaged in peer-assisted learning strategies with series of session and instructional methods. Pre-tests and post-tests were administered to measure progress in numeracy skills. Participants also recognized the value of improving numeracy skills, establishing attainable goals, and cultivating supportive environment to better navigate classroom engagements with peers in every activity. These experiences deepened their understanding of problem solving and strengthened their proficiency level in mathematics and ongoing academic growth. The results underscore the effectiveness of collaborative learning in fostering mathematical understanding and highlight the value of integrating peer-based strategies in elementary education to enhance numeracy development. The study emphasized that learners in elementary level elevated their proficiency level in mathematics through peer collaboration and by consulting subject matter experts. These findings urge education leaders and policymakers to establish lasting frameworks that foster professional development, encourage inclusive teaching methods, and guarantee quality education for every learner.
