Abstract
Concern for students' mental health has grown in the academic community in recent years. These mental health issues might potentially negatively impact their academic achievement and long-term educational results. The goal of the current study was to evaluate the connection between academic performance and mental health among Tamilnadu M.Ed. students. 315 M.Ed. students from Tamilnadu made up the study's sample. The survey method was the approach utilised for this investigation. The study evaluated the academic performance of the chosen sample using the Mental Health Status Scale (M.H.S. Scale) and the overall score of the B.Ed. course. Implemented the Pearson product-moment coefficient of correlation to look at the data. The study's statistical results showed that there was a strong link between Mental Health and Academic Performance among M.Ed. students in Tamilnadu. There was also no big difference in the students' mental health status based on their gender in Tamilnadu. The current study gives families, student teachers, teacher educators, educational researchers, administrators, and curriculum makers ideas on how to find a link between mental health and academic performance among M.Ed. students. This will help improve education and lead to more research in this area.
