Abstract
This study investigates the influence of adversity quotient and emotional intelligence on academic resilience of students in San Vicente Integrated School, Davao de Oro, Philippines. A quantitative research design, specifically correlational survey, was employed. The respondents comprised 130 junior high students from the selected school. Data were collected using modified questionnaires. The results indicate that junior high school students in San Vicente Integrated School, Montevista District exhibit a high level of adversity quotient, emotional intelligence, and academic resilience of junior high school students across indicated dimensions. Furthermore, the correlation analysis revealed a positive relationship between adversity quotient and emotional intelligence to students’ academic resilience. It was also revealed that only emotional intelligence predict students’ academic resilience. These findings underscore the importance of emotional intelligence and the role of teachers in promoting positive environment to enhance emotional aspect of learners inside the school premise. Recommendations include providing and implementing activities that would benefit the students in enhancing their overall emotional well-being.
