Abstract
The motivation behind this phenomenological study was to explore the lived experiences of primary teachers in motivating students in the classroom their strategies, challenges, coping mechanism and insights gained. This paper explored how teachers engage with their students, the strategies they implement to enhance motivation, and the challenges they face in maintaining student enthusiasm and participation. Five participants underwent in-depth interviews. This study used a phenomenological approach to qualitative research. As part of the ethical consideration, the identities of the five participants were kept confidential and anonymous. The findings revealed the variety of techniques utilized by teachers along with the challenges they face and the coping mechanisms they adopt to overcome those hurdles.
