QUANTIFYING THE INFLUENCE OF SCHOOL LEADERSHIP PRACTICES IN CREATING POSITIVE SCHOOL CLIMATE

This research investigated the impact of school leadership behaviors on building a good school climate in six public elementary schools in the New Corella District of Davao del Norte. A descriptive-correlational research design was used in exploring the correlation between leadership behaviors in general, transformational and instructional leadership, and the most important dimensions of school climate, namely collaboration, trust, inclusion, and support. 103 participants were involved in the research using a formal questionnaire. The findings indicated leadership practices were being viewed at the "Very High" level with a focus on collaboration, professional development, and instructional support. Likewise, school climate was given a "Very High" score, especially regarding safety, inclusion, and mutual respect among educators. The Pearson correlation test revealed a positive significant correlation between the school climate and leadership practices. Research posits that positive leadership is key in fostering effective school environments. It posits that leadership initiatives should be augmented with an emphasis on innovation, mentoring, and community involvement so that positive, caring learning settings are sustained.
