Abstract
This study investigated the impact of leadership styles and motivational practices on the working climate among 200 secondary school teachers of Asuncion District, Division of Davao del Norte, Philippines. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected through structured questionnaires administered to selected teachers. The study aimed to identify prevailing leadership styles and motivational strategies used by school leaders and examine how these factors influence the overall work environment. The study found that democratic leadership significantly enhances the teachers’ working climate by fostering collaboration and trust, whereas autocratic and laissez-faire styles have limited or negligible positive effects. Motivational practices, particularly recognition and supportive working conditions, strongly influenced teachers’ morale, job satisfaction, and retention. Overall, a positive work environment resulted from the effective combination of democratic leadership and motivational strategies, which collectively improved teacher performance and school climate. This study would contribute valuable insights to the field of education by expanding the knowledge base through an exploration and impact of leadership styles and motivational practices and its potential to enhance teachers working climate.
