Swarm Intelligence-Driven Adaptive Scheduling with Fuzzy Logic-Based Real-Time Optimization for Smart Hospitals

Abstract
Intelligent scheduling will also be necessary to optimize the allocation of resources, minimize patient waiting times, and improve healthcare efficiency, given the increasing complexity of operations in hospitals. Traditional scheduling systems rely on static or rule-based algorithms; they therefore do not adapt to the dynamic demands of a hospital in real time but instead produce congestion and physician burnout, resulting in suboptimal patient care. Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Internet of Things (IoT) sensor data, and AI-centric predictive rescheduling strategies were used in conjunction with Swarm Intelligence-Driven Adaptive Scheduling (SIAS) and Adaptive Fuzzy Logic-Based Real-Time Scheduling (AFL-RTS) to solve these limitations. As a result of smooth hospital operations, the findings exhibit a 20% improvement in the balance of workload, a 55% reduction in patient waiting time, and an 85% successful AI-powered rescheduling. It greatly enhances hospitals in terms of efficiency by maximizing patient flow, reducing the occurrence of scheduling conflicts, and elevating, in general, the quality of healthcare services.
