Abstract
Cultural heritage is a cornerstone of human identity, yet it faces ongoing threats from environmental degradation, conflict, and time. Traditional methods of preserving tangible and intangible heritage are often limited in scope, resources, and effectiveness. However, the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming cultural preservation practices. Through the use of deep learning, machine learning, and virtual reconstruction, AI is enhancing the ways in which we preserve, restore, and interpret cultural assets. This paper explores how AI technologies are applied to cultural preservation, focusing on their role in artifact restoration, the digitization of heritage, the preservation of languages, and the creation of immersive experiences through virtual reality. While challenges such as data biases and the ethical implications of AI remain, the future of AI in safeguarding cultural heritage appears promising, with the potential to offer unprecedented accuracy, accessibility, and preservation capabilities.
