Abstract
This paper reviews the role of machining fixtures in minimizing workpiece deformation caused by clamping and cutting forces, which is vital for maintaining machining accuracy. Various clamping methodologies across industries are explored, emphasizing the optimization of fixture element placement, such as locators and clamps. Current manual fixture setups increase cycle time, highlighting the need for advanced systems to enhance productivity, reduce setup time, and ensure high-quality operations.
