Abstract
The presence of synthetic dyes in textile wastewater poses significant environmental challenges due to their toxicity and persistence. This study evaluates the adsorption efficiency of biochar produced at 400°C and 500°C for the removal of textile dyes from aqueous solutions. The adsorption performance was analyzed under varying conditions, including adsorbent dose (1%, 3%), solution pH (4, 7, 10), contact time, and initial dye concentration. Results indicate that biochar produced at 500°C exhibited higher adsorption capacity compared to 400°C, attributed to increased surface area and porosity. pH played a critical role in dye removal. A column study was conducted to assess adsorption performance under continuous flow conditions. These findings suggest that biochar is an effective and sustainable adsorbent for textile dye removal, offering a potential solution for industrial wastewater treatment.
