Abstract
This study reports the first identification of the Roopchand ((Piaractus brachypomus) in the Akeru & Munneru River, Khammam District, Telangana. The investigation was carried out to understand the species distribution, habitat characteristics, and the significance of this occurrence within the local aquatic ecosystem. the fish is identified by using meristic and morphological characters, the samples were collected by using nets and traps during September - October 2024. The findings contribute to the documentation of biodiversity in inland waters of Telangana state.
