Abstract
This study investigates the awareness of higher secondary school students regarding pollution in the Tawi River. The research focuses on understanding students' knowledge about the sources, effects, and mitigation measures related to river pollution. A structured questionnaire was distributed among a sample of students from several schools, assessing their awareness levels and attitudes towards environmental conservation. Findings indicate varying degrees of awareness, with a general understanding of pollution sources but limited knowledge about specific impacts and solutions. The study underscores the need for enhanced environmental education programs to better equip students with comprehensive knowledge and practical strategies for addressing river pollution. Recommendations include integrating more detailed environmental studies into school curricula and encouraging community-based environmental initiatives.
