Abstract
The automotive industry is at a crossroads, with a pressing need to reduce emissions and enhance environmental
sustainability. Diesel engines, renowned for their efficiency, have also come under scrutiny for their contributions
to harmful emissions. Air filters, often underestimated, play a pivotal role in the endeavor to combat emissions
and ensure engine efficiency. This comprehensive review delves into the intricate world of air filter design and
development, offering insights into the evolution of materials, manufacturing processes, and the impact of
advanced designs on emissions reduction. Our review navigates the challenges encountered in current air filter
technologies and contemplates potential future directions for a greener automotive landscape. By synthesizing
findings from a multitude of sources, this review paper underscores the pivotal role of air filters in mitigating
emissions from diesel engines and emphasizes their potential to drive environmental sustainability in the
automotive industry. We conclude with thought-provoking suggestions for future research and development,
